FOREIGN CURRENCY
Traveling out of the country on vacation or a business trip? Whether your need for foreign currency is for personal or business use, you can stop by any Bank of Albuquerque branch to order foreign currency before you leave the U.S.
This service is offered free of charge to Bank of Albuquerque clients. Non-Bank of Albuquerque clients have a $500 maximum amount and will incur a fee of $5.00 per transaction. A $10.00 fee will be charged on all transaction amounts of $250.00 and below for clients and non-clients.
Here is how it works:
- Visit any Bank of Albuquerque branch and tell them you need to order foreign currency.
- Bank of Albuquerque will order the currency in the amount you specify at the current exchange rate. The currency will be ready for pick up in 1-3 business days at the branch where you placed the order. In most cases, the currency can be shipped overnight to a branch near you, if necessary.*
- Pick up your foreign currency and you are ready to go. It is that simple.
Have a few Euros or Pesos left over from your trip? Bank of Albuquerque will also purchase foreign currency from you at the current exchange rate. Visit any branch with foreign currency and walk out with U.S. dollars. This service is for paper currency only. No coin is accepted.
